President Hu conducts inspection at Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Chinese President Hu Jintao made an inspection tour of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Wednesday.

Hu visited an exhibition on knowledge innovation achievements in the academy and listened to a report on the work of the academy.

The academy launched its pilot knowledge innovation project in 1998 and has achieved encouraging results in some high technologies of strategic importance, technologies closely related to public welfare and scientific innovations, which have contributed to the country's economic construction, national security and sustainable social progress, according to experts.
