Ten large-scale sand-sculptures created by many famous Chinese sand-sculptors on "the first beach in the world", the Silver Beach in Beihai, got their ranking on July 28. "Hometown to south pearls", created by Zhang Yangen, an associate professor of Guangxi Arts Institute, won the first prize. Ten sand-sculptors from various arts institutes and organizations in China took part in the first National Sand-Sculpture Contest. Starting from July 21, they created works with a height of 3.6 meters, covering an area of 25 square meters in seven days. The works mainly feature sceneries and customs of the countries along the ancient "Marine Silk Road" starting form the coast of Beibu Gulf.
