Arab League condemns deadly attacks in JordanThe Arab League (AL) on Thursday condemned the deadly attacks on three luxury hotels in the Jordanian capital Amman Wednesday night, Egypt's official MENA news agency reported. The pan-Arab organization "strongly condemned the three simultaneous blasts that shook Amman Wednesday night and claimed lives of innocent civilians," AL chief Amr Moussa, currently on a visit to Czech, was quoted as saying. Moussa also offered condolences to Jordan's King Abdullah II, the Jordanian people and families of the victims, voicing belief that the Jordanian leadership and government were able to overcome this plight, MENA added. Three suicide bombings hit the Grand Hyatt, Radisson SAS and Days Inn hotels in Amman late Wednesday, killing at least 56 people. The al-Qaida group in Iraq, led by Jordanian-born militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, claimed responsibility on Thursday for the bombings in an internet statement, but the authenticity of the statement could not be verified.
