The Chinese-African relations and the role played by Beijing in boosting the Africans financially, morally and technically have witnessed a steady development since the start of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), said a Moroccan diplomat on Friday.
"Cooperation between China and Africa is beneficial for all the parties involved and has witnessed a steady development, and the efforts undertaken by China to help the countries of the African continent to achieve development and increase the growth rate is very effective," Farida Jaidi, diplomatic advisor to the Moroccan foreign minister, said in an interview with Xinhua on the sidelines of the seventh meeting of the Senior Officials Meeting of FOCAC on Friday.
Jaidi pointed out that it is clear that there is a strenuous Chinese desire to help more African countries, further cooperation and provide more support the Africans are in dire need of.
The Moroccan diplomat urged the China-Africa cooperation in many fields, especially in the area of infrastructure needed by the African continent, as well as in the fields of tourism, healthcare, saying "what the Africans need the most from the Chinese side is the transfer of knowledge and technology."
Jaidi denied that China-Africa cooperation is in one direction and that it is in favor of China only, saying that the African continent had waited for a long time for a helping hand until China came and did so.
"China finances and assists the infrastructure projects carried out in Africa, and those who say that this cooperation serves only the interest of China and China is exploiting Africa, should reflect on what they themselves have done for Africa," she said.
"The Chinese have contributed more than they have gained, those who repeat the claims just for fear of the economic development in Africa," the diplomat added.
In regard to the cooperation between China and the Kingdom of Morocco, she said "we are happy with the current situation, which covers the areas of health, training, transportation and infrastructure," expressing hope for further cooperation.
Senior Officials Meeting of the FOCAC wrapped up in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh on Friday.
Senior officials from China and African countries concluded a meeting here, having made final preparations for the fourth Ministerial Meeting scheduled on Nov. 8-9.
The main agenda of the upcoming ministerial conference here is to review the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and the Program for China-Africa Cooperation in Economic and Social Development and the two documents adopted during the first ministerial meeting of the forum held in Beijing.
The meeting is also expected to explore new initiatives and measures on the way toward Sino-African cooperation in priority areas such as human resources development, agriculture, infrastructure development, investment and trade.
The FOCAC is a mechanism for collective dialogue and cooperation jointly established by China and Africa to cope with new challenges and facilitate common development.
Since the launch of FOCAC in 2000, three ministerial conferences have been held in Beijing, Addis Ababa and Beijing respectively.
