The Chinese-Nigerian Entrepreneurs Business Forum was held in Beijing recently and more than 600 entrepreneurs from the two countries attended.

Nigerian president Umaru Yar'Adua attended the forum and made a keynote speech. Nigeria will continue to attract FDI (foreign direct investment) in fields such as petroleum, natural gas, agriculture and sideline products, manufacturing, the mining industry, telecommunications, infrastructure, electric power generation and transportation, as well as financial and capital markets. At the same time, Nigeria's president hopes that Chinese entrepreneurs will grasp investment opportunities in Nigeria.

Wan Jifei, the president of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, pointed out that annual, bilateral trade volume has continued to increase some 30 percent in recent years; and totaled 4.3 billion dollars in 2007.

The forum was sponsored by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
