South Koran President Roh Moo-hyun is expected to watch the mass games performance of Arirang Festival in Pyongyang during his upcoming visit to Pyongyang set for Oct. 2-4, South Korean Unification Minister Lee Jae-joung said on Friday.

"The sight of the two Korean leaders seated side by side at one stadium to watch the Arirang Festival performance would send a message of peace across the world," Lee told reporters.

"It will give a message that both sides are working together towards peace. The North (the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the DPRK) has been very cooperative about Roh's attendance at the Arirang Festival. The North side has voluntarily amended the repertoire of the card section and mass gymnastics shows. They are even inquiring about whether further changes are needed," he said.

According to local media, Roh and DPRK top leader Kim Jong-il will set to watch together the one-and-a-half-hour-long Arirang Festival on the evening of Oct. 2 at the Rungrado May Day Stadium, which is capable of seating over 150,000.

Roh is set to visit the DPRK from Oct. 2 to Oct. 4 and hold summit meeting with Kim Jong-il there.
