Argentina deafeated Honduras 1-0 Saturday in the opener of the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Argentina forward Sergio Araujo scored the lone goal in the 59th minute of the match disrupted by heavy rains but was watched by 19,560 spectators.
Argentina were booked four yellow cards while the Honduras team got two yellow cards.
Argentina will next meet Germany on Tuesday, while Honduras face the host Nigeria.
Earlier on Saturday, Nigerina vice president Goodluck Jonathan officially opened the FIFA U-17 tournament.
