Beijing is preparing for all eventualities as Taiwan leader Chen Shui-bian has intensified his secessionist push for the island's "de jure independence," Premier Wen Jiabao said yesterday.

Exchange-rate system will be more flexible
Premier Wen Jiabao ruled out a further one-off revaluation of the local currency yesterday, but said efforts will be made to have more flexibility in the exchange-rate regime.
